Brayden Fald (he/him)
Background
My name is Brayden (he/him), and I'm excited to be interning at Avery Therapy Centre. In my practice, I strive to create a warm and empathetic space where individuals can explore their innermost thoughts and emotions, fostering empowerment and resilience. Through diverse cultural experiences from traveling abroad, I have developed a deep passion for connecting with people from all walks of life. I have gained insights into how culture can impact an individual’s perspectives, values, and behaviour. This has enriched my personal growth and equipped me with invaluable skills to engage with clients from diverse backgrounds with genuine curiosity, respect, and an open-minded approach.
Originally from a small town in Alberta, I made my way to Vancouver after high school and earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology and criminology at Simon Fraser University. I am currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with diverse populations, including children, students, and seniors. My early years in customer service provided me with essential skills in empathy, effective communication, and patience, which I now integrate into my counselling practice.
Therapeutic Approach
I firmly believe that each individual possesses the innate ability to self-actualize, to realize their full potential and lead fulfilling lives. This concept, often associated with humanistic psychology, emphasizes personal growth and authenticity. Recognizing that challenges may arise from various sources, I approach counselling with the understanding that every person's journey is unique and multifaceted. Through collaborative exploration, we will identify your goals and develop strategies to achieve them. My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from a range of modalities tailored to your specific needs and experiences.
Grounded in a humanistic perspective, I prioritize fostering self-awareness and empowerment through genuine connection and exploration. Drawing from theories such as person-centered, narrative, solution-focused, and gestalt, I aim to provide a holistic framework for our work together. It's my commitment to walk alongside you, valuing your beliefs, honoring your experiences, and tapping into your inner resilience as we navigate towards your desired outcomes.

Connection is the energy that is created between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment.
